PURGIST is a solo act established in 2013 by Dawid Kowalski - a representative of the Polish experimental music scene. Having concluded his previous solo endeavor called Sleep Sessions (2005-2013), Kowalski pursues his artistic identity in PURGIST which is a logical continuation of his previous efforts. The newest release titled "Our Temple is on Fire" is a collection of recordings which serve as an introduction to the upcoming full-length album "Secret Habit". The sounds here are best described as eclectic since they bridge the gap between traditional experimental music (field recordings, tape manipulation) with advanced Digital Signal Processing. Additionally, Kowalski puts considerable focus on the compositional aspect of his works, stepping away from typical improvisation. "Our Temple is on Fire" as well as his other albums are also a form of revealing personal vices and deep-seated imperfections. The income made from this album will be put towards financing a portion of the costs related to the upcoming "Introspective" USA Tour 2016.
